Post by Jacob –
I know Nephi has shared a great deal of Isaiah’s writings in his blogs and it seems that the words of Isaiah repeat themselves as they foretell gatherings, apostasies, rebellions, scatterings, destructions, restorations and gatherings, both in ancient times and future times.
As Nephi is about to share with you more of Isaiah’s writings, permit me to share with you some of Isaiah’s writings found in the plates of brass, but in my words, rather than his.
In the last days all the nations of the Gentiles and the Jews, in this the promised land and on all lands throughout the world will be drunken with iniquity and abominations. The Lord will respond to this worldwide wickedness with great signs, these signs will include thunder, earthquakes, noise, storms, tempest and devouring fire. Any nation that fights against Zion will suffer a spiritual famine. They will not find spiritual fulfillment. Zion is defined as God’s covenant people.
In this future day, the Lord will bring forth a book. The words of the book contain the teaching of a people long since deceased. A portion of the book will be sealed, which contains a revelation of the beginning of the world to the very end of the world.
Because of the wickedness of the people, the things which are sealed will not be delivered at that time. The book will be delivered to a man and he will take words from the book and deliver them to another. Lets make sure I make this clear. God will deliver the book to an unlearned man chosen to be His servant. This man will deliver only some of the words of the unsealed portion of the book to another. The sealed portion of the book will be kept until the Lord chooses the time for it to be shared and read by the power of Christ – at which time it will be revealed to all that have ever been among the children of men, along with all things from the foundation of the world until the very end.
When the time comes when the book is delivered unto the man of whom I have spoken, the book will be hid from the eyes of the world, with the exception of three witnesses who will see it, by the power of God. These three will testify to the truth of the book and the things therein. According to the will of God, a few others may witness the book so they too may bear witness of the book.
As I mentioned, this unlearned man will give the words of the book to another and ask him to take the words to a learned man and ask him to read them. The learned man will desire to read the actual book, not because he will want to glorify God, but he will seek to get the glory of the world. He will be told the book is sealed to which he will respond, “I cannot read it.”
Despite the unlearned man’s claim of his lack of education, the Lord will say ” The learned shall not read them, for they have rejected them, and I am able to do mine own work; wherefore thou shalt read the words which I shall give unto thee.”
Being instructed to leave the sealed portion alone, the unlearned man will bring forth the words of the book. At the instruction of the Lord he will then seal up the book and give it back to the care of the Lord. The Lord promises to bring forth the sealed portion in His own due time.
I am impressed with Isaiah’s detailed account of the bringing forth of this book, and the Lord’s careful management of it’s coming forth in the last days. This book truly represents a powerful tool to be used in God’s final work. I am convinced it is just one of many miracles which will show the world that God is the same yesterday, today and forever and that He only works among the children of men according to their faith.
God will tell this unlearned man that because the people of the latter-days “draw near unto me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their hearts far from me, and their fear towards me is taught by the precepts of men— I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, yea, a marvelous work and a wonder, for the wisdom of their wise and learned shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent shall be hid.”
And as for the wicked who try to hide their works, the Lord knows their works and their works will testify against them. Before long the deaf will hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness. The meek also shall increase, and their joy shall be in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. As surely as God lives, the people will “see that the terrible one is brought to naught, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off.” God’s people need not be ashamed, although many will seek to harm and destroy, you will see the work of His hands and sanctify his name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
