Post by Sam –
We traveled in a south-southeast direction for about four days and arrived at a place we call Shazer where we set up our tents. It was nice to rest a bit. Our family, or should I say “my brothers” are pretty good with bows and arrows. Stopping there in Shazer gave us an opportunity to take our bows and arrows and venture into the wilderness to hunt some food for our families. We were pretty successful, we bagged some game and returned to camp, to our families.
With a fresh supply of meat, we headed on our way, following the same direction but keeping pretty much to the most fertile parts of the wilderness, which bordered the Red Sea.
We traveled for a number of days, slaying food by the way. Sometimes we simply used stones and slings rather than our bows and arrows. This brass ball Nephi described is pretty good at directions. It has led us through the most fertile parts of the wilderness. Again we traveled for many days before we stopped to pitch our tents and rest ourselves. This gave us another chance to obtain food for our families.
