Post by Aaron – Son of Mosiah
I left Jerusalem grateful to leave, yet disappointed for the trials the Amonites and Amalikites will certainly face. Words like smitten and destroyed come to mind. I journeyed to a village called Anti-Anti. Interesting how God doesn’t expect us to work on our own all the time. In Anti-Anti I found Muloki preaching to the people there. With him was Ammah and his brethren. They were having no more success than I did. Contention is all we experienced. The hearts were too hard.
We went on to the land of Middoni. In Middoni we preached the word to many of the people there. Again, we had little success. Few believed our words. It got so bad that they took me along with a certain number of us and cast us into prison. The rest of our small band of missionaries fled into other regions. Where they went or their safety I didn’t know.
Our hope remained in eventual deliverance by our God. There is no need to delve into the details of our time in the Middoni prison. It is enough to say we suffered many things. Our prayers reached heaven because we eventually were delivered by the hand of Lamoni and Ammon, being fed and clothed.
The Middoni is not the only prison from which I and our brethren needed to be delivered. But let me dwell on the success that we did experience as we persisted in preaching the word of the Lord. I certainly do not want to ever say we were not blessed of the Lord at any time during these times but it becomes easy to appreciate the blessings more when we experience success in preaching the word and we find those people who do believe and come to the Lord with softened hearts.
