Dearest Children,
It is finally evening; I have spent the entire day worrying about you. Since you left on your journey so much has happened. Your father has kept a record for you, so that you will know what the Lord has said while you are away. But now we find ourselves with another dilemma. Your father and I discussed what we should do next. Should we wait longer, or continue on our journey to a land of promise?
It seems as though every time he has a vision it is a preamble to a new trial, which taxes our every strength. First, leaving our home to wander in the wilderness, and now fearing for the lives of our children. I don’t want to leave you behind, but I fear you are no longer alive. Laban is a wicked man, and I know he will stop at nothing to prevent you from doing as the Lord asked. But the Lord has covenanted to lead us to a land of promise. We have faith that he will keep his promise.
Your father and I did not feel at peace with leaving at this time, so we have decided to wait longer. We felt that this was the right decision, and this gives me hope that you will someday return. I am constantly supplicating the Lord on your behalf. I know he hears and answers our prayers. Please know that your father and I love you. I pray that you will return to me safe and soon.
God be with you,
-Your mother, Sariah
