These many prophecies concerning the coming of and crucifixion of the Son of God and what would follow are found throughout the writings on the Plates of Brass. It is clear that the workings of the spirit were common with the prophets of old. They testified that following the crucifixion of our Savior the people of Jerusalem would be scourged by all people because they did crucify the God of Israel. They would turn their hearts aside and would reject His signs and wonders and they would reject the power and glory of the God of Israel.
According to these prophets, because of this rejection they will wander in the flesh and perish and become a hiss and a byword and they will be hated among all nations.
The prophets also say that when the day comes when they quit turning their hearts aside, He will remember the covenants He made with their fathers. Zenos particularly talked about how He will gather in all the house of Israel from the four quarters of the earth. The whole earth will see the salvation of the Lord and all will be blessed.
I have included these things here so my people will also be persuaded to remember the Lord our Redeemer. In hopes the rest of the House of Israel may somehow follow these posts, I include them here also.
Just as the spirit showed things to the prophets of old about us, we can read about them in the plates of brass. I am therefore teaching my family all these things so they will learn about how the Lord has dealt with the people in other lands. The plates of brass contain the books of Moses and I read many of those writings to my family. My hope is that I can more fully persuade them to believe in the Lord our Redeemer. I love the writings of Isaiah which are also found on the plates of Brass. To help us understand them, I liken these writings to us for our profit and learning.
Just as these prophets have written in their time to us, I write to all that are a remnant of the house of Israel. Liken these scriptures to yourselves, they were written for our benefit.
