My father Lehi has seen and written countless things which he saw in visions and in dreams; and he has written down lots of the things that he prophesied and spoke to us his children, but I am not going to include all those things in my blog here. I will probably refer to some of them in future blogs, especially those that that are having a great impact on our family’s life right now.
But I will say that after the Lord had shown so many marvelous things to my father Lehi concerning the destruction of Jerusalem, that he did what he was told by God to do and he went out among the people, and began to prophesy and to tell them about the things that he had both seen and heard.
Nobody likes to be told they are living contrary to God’s will and they mocked him because of the things which he testified about them; he pulled no punches, he testified of their wickedness and their abominations.
But he was not just calling to repentance but he offered hope as well and told them how to obtain deliverance. He testified that the things which he saw and heard, and also the things which he read in the book, manifested plainly of the coming of a Messiah, and also the redemption of the world. This filled my soul with hope, but is just made the people more angry.
When the people heard these things they got angry with him. It was just like back in the olden days when prophets would declare the word of God, many of them were cast out and stoned and even killed. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised but these people tried to kill my father also. In a future blog I will show you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance. I will also show you that these attempts on my father’s life were not idle threats.
