Post by Nephi –
In my father’s vision, he described a rod of iron that extended along the bank of the river that eventually led to a fountain of living waters, which waters are a representation of the love of God as well as the tree of life, which also was a representation of the love of God as I mentioned in my last post.
But back to the rod of iron. I learned that it was the word of God and whoever will hearken to the word of God and hold on tight, they will never perish. As long as you really hold on, the temptations and fiery darts of Satan will never overpower and blind you, nor lead you away into destruction.
Honest truth seekers from all generations have learned they must cling to the word of God to be safe from the winds of adversity and worldly enticings. We can never, ever let go.
None of us are strong enough to stand against those winds alone. Protection from failure in this life is not the only benefit of our clinging to the iron rod. We have been and will be, in all generations, promised that if we overcome and abide the words of God unto the end, we will be given power over many kingdoms and we will rule with the Word of God.
For this very purpose, we have been given this iron rod. It will indeed lead us safely through to a glorious reward.
