Nephi,
I am relieved to hear you are out of the city and safe. May the Lord be as gracious to your family as he has been to my brothers and me. The Lord’s hand has surely been with us, for we have found much grace in Nebuchadnezzar’s sight. Even Jehoiachin and his family have been blessed in this foreign land.
I understand things have become quite worse in Jerusalem since my deportation. Jehoiakim’s death, Jehoiachin’s exile, and now I hear the priests have attempted to kill Jeremiah. Surely, his own words will come to pass in that Jerusalem will be cast out of the Lord’s presence because of such gross iniquity.
From what I’ve read on your blog, it sounds like Laman still hasn’t come around. I remember long nights when we would stay up late discussing the law and the prophets, and he always had a stiff neck. I pray that his heart will soften and his influence on Lemuel and the others will be minimal.
God speed in your travels, and give my blessing to your father and mother.
