This blog, which was started by Nephi can’t even begin to contain a full account of what’s happening with my people, such as the wars, the contentions and the reign of their kings. But I do want to finish up with a few points from my last post. I know I was quite firm about the wickedness of our people but let me speak to the pure in heart, at least for a moment. Look to God with firmness of mind, and pray to Him with exceeding faith, and He will console you in your afflictions, and He will plead your cause, and send down justice upon those who seek your destruction.
All of you that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon His love; for you may, if your minds are firm, forever.
But, I warn you that are not pure in heart, you that are filthy today before God; for except you repent the land is cursed for your sakes; and the Lamanites, which are not as filthy as you are, even though they are cursed with a sore cursing, will scourge you and even destroy you.
It won’t be long that unless you repent they will get the land of your inheritance, and the Lord God will lead away the righteous out from among you. You hate the Lamanites because of their filthiness and the cursing which came upon their skins, but they are more righteous than you; at least they haven’t forgotten the commandment of the Lord, which was given to our father—that they should only have one wife, and no concubines and they shouldn’t commit whoredoms either. At least this commandment they observe to keep; because of this observance, in keeping this commandment, the Lord God will not destroy them, but He will be merciful unto them; and one day they will become a blessed people.
We think we are better than they are, but their husbands love their wives, and their wives love their husbands; and their husbands and their wives love their children; and their unbelief and their hatred towards you is because that is what their fathers taught them. So, how much better are you than they, in the sight of your great Creator? Please, I fear that unless you repent of your sins, their skin will be whiter than yours, when you are brought with them before the throne of God.
Here is a commandment I give you, which is the word of God, don’t revile anymore against the Lamanites because of the darkness of their skins; don’t revile against them because of their filthiness; you need to remember your own filthiness, and remember that their filthiness came because of their fathers. Remember how you’ve grieved the hearts of your children because of the example that you set before them; and also, remember that because of your filthiness, you easily could bring your children unto destruction, if you do their sins will be heaped on your heads at the last day.
Please pay attention! Listen and obey my words; wake up your souls; shake yourselves so you can wake up from the slumber of death; and free yourselves from the pains of hell so you don’t become angels to the devil, to be cast into that lake of fire and brimstone which is the second death.
When I spoke to my people, the people of Nephi, I also warned them against fornication and lasciviousness, and every kind of sin, telling them the awful consequences that come as a result of this disobedience. I am certain, they are too fond of hearing from me these days. But when I am commanded by the Lord, I have no choice.
